Learning Objectives:

  1.  To review and increase understanding of updated Interpretative guidelines and updates for Emergency Preparedness related to Federal Regulations in Appendix Z of the State Operations Manual because of the revisions of the Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Regulatory Provisions to Promote Program Efficiency Transparency, and burden Reduction (Conditions of Participation (CoPs); (CMS 3346-) Final Rule for implementation in ALL Healthcare settings.
  2. To expand Knowledge of the Guidance related to Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) based upon best practices, lessons learned and general recommendations for planning and preparedness for EID outbreaks.
  3. To discuss and increase understanding of Annual State Emergency Preparedness Planning and ways to streamline the process of developing the facility’s Annual State Emergency Plan to include EIDs and required exercises.
